Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Russell and his family have been members of MZBC since 2004. Russell joined the ministry staff in 2009 and has served as Youth Pastor, Children’s Pastor, Associate Pastor, and is currently serving as Lead Pastor.
Russell graduated from Saint Leo University with a B.A. in Religion. He earned his Master of Arts in Religious Education from Liberty University Theological Seminary. Russell and his wife, Heather have two children - Olivia & Elijah.
- Favorite OT Verse: Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (NIV)
- Favorite NT Verse: John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.” (ESV)
Russell enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf with friends, relaxing on the beach, and serving others!
Mt. Zion is a place that God has used for many generations to be the “light” in this community. Pastor Russell wants to lead this congregation to a place of true worship; where Jesus is the central focus of everything! It would be an honor to have you join us as we try to spread the Agape love of Christ to all!
What We Believe
About the Bible
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write every word of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error.
About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of our lost world.
About Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the only basis for the forgiveness of sin. Salvation only occurs when a person places his/her faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the payment for his/her sin.
About Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself.
About The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to a lost world.
