Vision and Core Values
VISION STATEMENT
Mt. Zion Baptist Church is a contemporary church with traditional values. We engage in creative ministries for all people of all ages, making us an inter-racial and inter-generational fellowship. MZBC is a place where every person is challenged to know Jesus Christ in a way that results in a growing faith, a consistent prayer life, real worship, sincere service, and an evangelistic mindset. The result is a church that reaches our community, our state, our nation, and our world for Christ.
CORE VALUES
The core values will be the criteria by which all ministry activity, programs and policies are measured. Compatibility with the core values will be a prerequisite for implementation.
1. We are committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.
2. We are committed to receiving our direction from the Holy Spirit and God's Word, enabling a balance between cultural relevancy and Scriptural integrity.
3. We are committed to unity in our fellowship.
4. We are committed to intercessory prayer.
5. We are committed to creative worship that is led in spirit and in truth.
6. We are committed to Biblical preaching, teaching, and application of God's inerrant Word that results in changed lives.
7. We are committed to Sunday School for fellowship, pastoral care, leadership development, and accountability.
8. We are committed to a discipleship ministry that helps believers mature in Christ and equips the saints to do the work of ministry.
9. We are committed to ministering compassionately.
10.We are committed to sharing the Gospel with all people, just as they are, without any regard to race, gender, age, or economic status.
